Rotary Club of Thane Metro is a happening place!
President Hemant Mondkar took a decisive step today. He invited his classmates from New English School, Thane and formed a ‘Senior Citizen Club.’ The members of this group had passed their matriculation examination in 1963. So they were meeting after 53 years!
Wow!!
The
senior citizens of course came with their spouses, so it made a large gathering
of over 50 persons. It was interesting to listen to them. They talked about
their life after graduating from the school. They talked about how they met
their wife. Some fell in love and tied the nuptial knot; others waited for
their parents to choose the bride for them.
But
Hemant had a very different story. Listen to him in this video.
President
Hemant has announced the ‘Thank you Dinner’ on the 27th May. If we
consider what he has done for the club, it is we who have to give a dinner in
his honour.
President
Elect Chandrashekhar Thakar is all set to take over. When he speaks in his
baritone voice, you are reminded of the revving of Formula 1 car. All the best
to you.

A few
words about this blog. I have invited some Rotarians to this blog. They can
contribute to this blog, meaning they can post anything. This blog is open for
public view so anybody can visit it and read. But only those who are authorised
can contribute.
Cheers!

I liked the blog very much.
ReplyDeletekudos to Mondkar for organising the meeting of their New Eng school mates of 1963 batch.Nearly 35 of them with their spouses met after a span of 53 years.Great. What an enthusiasm!
ReplyDeleteThe couples introduced one another & shared how they went hand in hand to travel their sucessfull journey till date.
Few spouses were happy to know that the husbands have got friends now so they will get some space to be alone to enjoy themselves. sounds nice
It's true at times this space is required. It's vice versa too.
Some humorous part shared by one of the spouses was calling her husband as "Maintenance Manager".
The name ceremony of the club as 'NEST 1963' is very appropriate.
We Rotarians could feel the joy & happiness in each one of them specially Pres.Hemant Mondkar.
To surprise, everyone accepted the proposal of forming a senior citizen club spontaneously. In fact the autorities are in place & the planning has started.Extremely Great.
I think the senior citizen club will be more stronger than our Rotary Club.
The evening was good to see the Happy Couples.
My best wishes to NEST 1963.
